Electromagnetic Characteristics of Dual-Air-Gap Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

This paper introduces a novel dual-air-gap surface permanent magnet synchronous motor (DAG-SPMSM) and investigates its electromagnetic characteristics. The comprises two stators (inner outer) single rotor with magnets on both sides outer). are arranged in zig-zag configuration to isolate the inner outer stator magnets. Additionally, magnetic shield is incorporated into further flux, which results localized short flux path that can reduce core loss. insertion of also affects path, reducing torque ripple. characteristics, such as density, torque, analyzed using finite element analysis. effectiveness screen evaluated, simple experiments conducted validate observed characteristics proposed motor.
